Hotels with History: The White Hart, Overton

The White Hart has been at the centre of Overton life for over five centuries. As one of the main stopping points for travellers between London and the South West, it was where merchants did much of their trade and at one point, it even made its own currency. It’s safe to say The White Hart has seen a lot over the years and has some brilliant stories to tell. To delve a little deeper BBC South Today featured us on “Hotels with History”, which you can watch below.

The pub had struggled for survival in recent years and the last time it was completely modernised was in 1770. After an extensive and sensitive refurbishment, the pub was re-opened in June 2015 by the Upham Pub Group, who has re-established it as a village favourite.

To see more of our historical inn, stop by for a drink, bite to eat, stay the night or simply say “hello”.
